2007 Mercedes Clk63 Amg Review

The 2007 Mercedes CLK63 AMG is the true embodiment of what Mercedes can offer to consumers. It is a combination of true power and class. When these two are combines they offer a ride that cannot be disputed.

The CLK63 AMG is equipped with a 6.2 liter V8 engine that can push out 475 horsepower. This model has the broad midrange torque that you would usually find in a larger B8 displacement AMG. But the hardware has made this possible and is has given it a high rpm that allows it to pull all the way to the 7200rpm redline.

The CLK drives effortlessly thanks to its sevenspeed transmission and the highly refined manumatic with paddleshift capability. AMG equips the quick shifting automatic with a tightly calibrated torque converter. It does not produce any jerking when shifting.

A switch found on the center console allows you to select Manual Sport and Comfort mode. These options allow you to calibrate the speed in which the transmission takes hold of the next gear and can hold each gear to the redline.

The CLK convertible is balanced well for a road car and stays true to its sporting roots. It is equipped with Mercedes’ quick response body control system. The CLK coupe was dropped from the lineup last year and they have not made any plans to bring it back. For now we will have to stick with the 2007 CLK63 AMG convertible. But that is find with us because it is the better of the two.
